Raggedy Old Annies

I'm leaving........

Yes! I'm singing the song "I'm leaving on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again"......OMG I cannot wait! My bags are packed....and let's just say it looks like Christopher and I are moving in!

I'm hoping I do not get busted for my biggest bag being too heavy! There is really not much in it...but darn it feels heavy! It's not even full! Leaving room for stuff I will bring home!

So I promised to post a pic of the cute jammies that I made for both Missy and I, but.....I didn't get a chance to finish them up, which means just putting the elastic in the waist..and they just are not as cute without that....so I packed them away to finish at her house. And today was CRAZY! I have been running around since early in the mornin. First I had to run by the doc to get the paperwork for the special "hard shoe" that Christopher has to wear. Yes.....they want him in a hard shoe to keep the toe from bending because while it is healing..the swelling isn't going down. So after picking that up and realizing that it was for another doc which in turn needed another appointment plus co-pay plus 20% of the shoe price...I said "screw that" and went and bought the darn shoe myself which I was going to do on Friday, but talked myself out of it because the doc's office said my insurance would cover it! We're talking only 20 bucks!!! I was so happy that they had a black one....as his VANS are black/white checkered...so it really isn't too obvious...but obvious enough I'm hoping that they will see it at the airport and let us board ahead of others! LOLOL But I doubt! Then we had to run to the post office to get orders out before we left, oh and head out of town to drop off my nephew who I have been watching, and then the fun trip to Walmart for goodies. Then home to pack...as I hadn't started any! Get this...I've been saving my money for this trip for a lil while now...and hubby came home passin out $20's!!!! Wasn't that nice of him! Woo hoo!!!! I'm soooo excited! I cannot wait! So next time you hear from me...I'll be at Missy's!

Oh...and I almost forgot....Glitter and Grunge is updated!!!! There are 5 new Artists!!! I haven't looked yet...but that's what I am going to do before I shut my computer down! HaHa..computer is getting a vacation too!

Get this...only 2 more days till I leave for Missy's!!!! YIPPEE!! I think I am way more excited than her! LOLOL I've been crazy making us matching jammy bottoms for days! I'll take pics tomorrow!

Lil Annie Photo Shoot

Finished up some lil Annies and we had fun doing a photo shoot! tee hee! I have 5 of them available, and I have already added them to my website.

I am totally counting down the days till I go to Missy's! We are down to 7 days now! I leave in a week! YIPPEEE!!!! Kinda worried that my son STILL cannot put on a pair of tennis shoes....his toe is still very horrible and we are going to a doc appt this week! Still very fat and still very red! UGH! I hope he has learned a lesson from this!

We have a BRAND NEW Scrapbooking store in town! It's about time! If you don't know...I HATE the town I live in! It's boring..there is nothing to do, and no good shopping. Anytime they bring in something new...it's either a Rite-Aid or a Walgreens! COME ON! How many pharmacies does one town really need? Seriously! We did just get a Mimi's......and I can't wait to eat there...but it will be some time as its REALLY PACKED! Okay back to the Scrapbook store....they have some wonderful papers in there! I was really good! Only bought 5 sheets....because I'm trying really hard to save my moola for Missy's! They have some really cool classes going on! I'm going to sign up for them! There is one this weekend....that I really want to do, but can't because I am shooting a wedding for a friend of mine. But there is another class the weekend after I come back from Missy's, so I'm gonna go for that one. Here is my big purchase of the day! LOL

cute huh? Well...I'm outta here...house needs cleaning! Laundry needs done....it's never ending!

To sell...or not sell???

That is my question of the day...or better yet the weekend...because I took these pictures on Friday...with the intent of putting them on my website to sell.

Actually...I think I'm pretty decided on the first one....I do intend to put that one on my website...but the 2nd one...hmmm I'm undecided! I'm re-doing our guest room and taking out the full bed and putting in a twin, so I think it just might fit!

The other day, Heidi of  EveryDay Cookies at Woodruff Acres had a post where she was giving away those cool paper bag photo albums....already sewn and holes punched! I commented....how sweet it was of her and she sent me some! OMG! Very sweet of her! I've made some of these for a friend of mine for her BoyScout troop...and the sewing wasn't bad, but the punching holes...hmmm...that was not fun! And look how cute she wrapped them up! And a bingo card too!!!!

On Sunday, my sons All Star team had their party! What fun it was! It was a pool party...and this backyard was to DIE FOR! I have never seen anything like it! HUGE rock slide, actually the whole backside of the pool was a rock landscape including lots of waterfalls! I took this fun picture of my hubby (who claims I NEVER talk about him on here) and my son. What an awesome picture!

Mark had no intentions of going in the pool...but after a few beers...he was easily talked into it! And well...speaking of being talked into something! They also had a jacuzzi that had more rock waterfalls...and I guess the kids like jumping off from them into the jacuzzi....I'm told it's a deeper jacuzzi...but NOT deep enough, because Christopher was talked into jumping off of it..and well...let's just say INJURY!I guess he hit the bottom..big toe first! Ouch! Don't click on the pic to upsize it if you don't like icky bloody pics! Christopher will be so mad if he even knew I showed you this! He's very embarrased!

I wrapped the coaches gifts up sooo cute!

I think that is enough for today! Off to get some real work done now......like heading to the grocery store! I'm all out of Diet Pepsi and the day just CANNOT go on without it! Listen up Missy...make sure  you have lots and lots there waiting for me! Only 15 more days! Oh and go peek at her blog! Cute pic from her show Saturday night!

I feel LUCKY today.....

Yes, I do feel lucky even though it's Friday the 13th! Maybe I shouldn't talk too soon though! Christopher had a doc appt this morning, so after that we went to some Thrift stores...me in search of Vintage Pillow Cases! I did find a couple....and a cute top sheet too! But what I really love is this cool umbrella that I found!

Isn't it sooo cute??? I'm doing the rain dance now so I can use it! Christopher already told me that I am not allowed to use it walking him into school!LOLOL Oh...and did I mention that I only paid 50 cents for it!!!!! What a deal! I think I only spent about $5 bucks total between the 2 stores I went to today. Here is a pic of my stash.

There is some cool old wrapping paper, the umbrella is there in it's cool case, then some pillow cases and a top sheet, then a bunch of lace and some zippers for Missy!

Don't get me started......

because this is what I'll end up doing all day! That's how it is when I find something that I really enjoy! So making that 1st purse last night at 11pm wasn't enough! I made 3 more today! But this time, they are made from dish towels, Martha Stewart ones!!!! Brand new of course! I found a ton of them for a really good price and couldn't pass it up...and they've been hanging around my sewing room for a while now waiting for the perfect project....and HERE IT IS! I just LOVE them! I think that I am going to keep the minty one for myself!

I've already added the Yellow one to my Etsy Shop. And now Missy is going crazy...she's making cute lil Make-Up bags!!! Oh we are gonna have soooo much fun together! I don't think 10 days will be enough! Well for me anyway! I think Christopher will be done early...because he just realized the other night that he will be OUT NUMBERED!!!! All girls! Then him. Well Bryan will be there...but mostly only at night...because someone has to work to feed us right? And pay the electric bill so we can keep the sewing machines running? tee hee!!!! Okay..counting down....19 more days till I fly out! Geesh...I'm worse than a kid!

HandMade Purse

I've been seeing these cute handmade purses all over! The ones that I see are made from vintage pillowcases...mine however is not....why...because it is the 1st one that I made, and I wanted a trial time to be on some fabric that I wouldn't regret! The fabric is vintage though..well MOST of it! The little Holly Hobby like print Missy sent to me years ago...actually, just as we met...before we really even talked! Her grandma had given her several HUGE boxes of vintage fabric and she was sorting it out and parting with it because she just didn't have the room for it! And coming from her grandma...I know it's vintage...her grandma has a house FULL of vintage stuff! Anyway, back to the purse. The ruffles are made from gingham, the orange and pink are new, green is vintage. The inside is lined with the same green gingham. The strap is new....it's pink nylon. I chose to use the nylon mainly because I had it in my "purse makin supply" box and I am in the clear out mode! And I didn't think the purse print would make a cute strap. And I didn't have enough of the green gingham. See...many reasons! The purse turned out a little smaller than I wanted it to....it measures approx 11" tall by 8" wide. And the strap is long enough to go over your shoulder and across your chest and rest on your hip...maybe! I'm gonna hop on over in a bit and put it on my NEW ETSY SHOP!!!!! Missy has been buggin me for months to set up an Etsy shop and I finally did! Missy and I have big plans to make some of these purses when I visit next month...I already have my vintage pillow cases set aside for the trip!

YEE HAW...New Annies Added!

I did it....I sat down and finished that little pile of dolls that I showed you in my last post.

I REALLY NEED to get busy and get some new girls on ROA for you....but really for me...ha ha..cause I NEED spending money for my trip to Missy's! Counting down...3 weeks to go! I'm so excited! I think about it every day!!! Christopher and I are leaving on August 1st (flying) and we come back on the 10th!

And guess what.......I have Orphans too!!!! About 7 of them!

This past weekend was fun! I spent it with my brother and his kids. Remember, we went to Hooters! LOL And after that, we went to this really cool SpeedWay called "Pole Position". Electric Go Carts! I didn't ride one, but I sure had fun taking pictures! They all had a blast!

My lil one is so creative....he's really been into Guitars ever since he got the Guitar Hero's 2 game for his Xbox for his birthday. Well...sad thing...his Xbox broke....just after he had gotten it back after being on restriction for a month! Turns out this is a major malfunction on the Xbox....they have sent for it and will repair it. Right after this happened, Missy sent me a link from Microsoft talking about this issue. Glad it's not just us. So if any of you have issue with 3 red lights....take a peek! Anway, back to the guitars and being creative...he decided to make up his own last night. Here he is with his cousin (the birthday boy who is now a teenager).

And one last thing before I let you go.....I want to show you Christopher's room. When we bought this Loft Bed over a year ago, we didn't put the bottom bed together because we mostly bought it for more space in his tiny room! But....the summer heat is just killing him up there on the top bunk, even though the air is on and so is the fan. So yesterday we moved a few things around, and put the bottom bed together and while we were in there, he wanted all of his baseball jerseys hung on the wall. It looks like a Sports Bar now! But it's really cute! I was teasing him and told  him no more baseball...there is no more room for jerseys! LOL But I love his room...he's really lucky to have such a cool room. All he needs now is a TV! Spoiled Brat!

I almost forgot!!!! I was so wrapped up in getting my homework done so I could enjoy the weekend, that I almost blew it! I'm so sorry! I know it's late, but I printed up the names, cut them out, folded them up and put them in my old vintage colander (that I still use btw (it was my moms) ) and I pulled 2 names!

I was hoping to get this pile of dolls done tonight to put on my website....but this is as far I I got. So look for them on either Sunday or Monday! I'm going out of town on Saturday. It's my nephews birthday... and get this....we're going to Hooters! He's only turning 13!!!!! We went there last year too! I got some hella funny pics of what they did to him!

They gave him BOOBS!!! It was funny! Then they made what looked to me like a elephant trunk and ears for his hat! LOL Thats alot of foil! And check out the look on my sons face in this picture below! He's on the left in red. Click on the picture to make it bigger. IT's PRICELESS!!!! It was his first time at Hooters!

Okay....I'm off to bed! I've had alot of late nights...and I'm pooped out! Don't forget about the Glitter and Grunge contest!!! It is still going on till the 15th!!!!

Happy 4th....a day late!

I hope that everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July! I went along with a friend to see her friends who were camping at the beach. Perfect weather! The kids played in the water for a while....then Christopher got stung by what we think was a jelly fish..he said it looked pink. He screamed bloody murder! I was already out there in the water so I was not far from him. We pulled him in, tried to figure out what when where and why. It was right at his knee....and it was puffy and all red.  We took him over to the cute YOUNG lifeguard who sprayed vinegar on it, I guess that is supposed to help neutralize the sting. Then he thought Christopher was having a bad reaction to it because of the hives...LOLOL I said "no, we came with those". Yup....them hives are back! I took him to the doctor...they are starting out with a prescription of Hydroxyzine. I've already looked it up...and one case is for "chronic hives" and get this...it can last 6 weeks!!! UGH! Poor kiddo. I am now taking pictures...as the doctor wants to see us back and I want to show the doctor, but I don't want to embarrass the poor kid and show you all! But I will show you pics of the beach!
