I still exist!!!!

I'm sorry...I know that I have been a stranger lately! My mom was here for a bit....and when she went to visit with my brother, I started working, and she's back again until Sunday.....and she cracked the whip and made me work today! So I finished up some dolls that I started over the weekend! And they are on RaggedOldAnnies!!!

 

So did you see the "People's Bunny" on Missy's blog? OMG!! isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen??? It looks so vintage!!!! I love it!

Well...I'm keeping this short...and sweet...because I'm tired...and it's bedtime! Let me know what you think of the dolls....MayBelle is my favorite...oh and speaking of MayBelle....that name is from the movie "Bridge to Terebithia". Have any of you seen that? My son's teacher had a "meet you there" field trip last Saturday to see it....as they are going to be reading the book in class, and well...I really didn't want to go because it just wasn't my kind of movie..thought is was magical and mystical...but I didn't want him to miss out. So we went...along with some other kiddos in the class. We lined up our kiddos in front...and us moms sat behind them. I HAD NO IDEA what I was in store for! All I will say is I cried and cried!!!! I was using the sleeve of my sweatshirt to wipe my tears..it was soaking wet! Sad movie!! Nothing what I expected! Another reason why you can't judge a book by it's cover! LOL

My Famous Friend!

Yes...that's right...I have a "famous friend" and her name is Missy Ballance!

She starred in the show "That's Clever"!!!! Do you remember her? I'm so proud to announce that it's "RE RUN" time for the show...and you'll be able to see her again on February 14th! That's Tuesday...that's tomorrow! OMG so sorry for the short notice!!!!!! Check  your local listings!!!! It's on HGTV.

And I recieved a wonderful gift in the mail from Tyn of Pookieville.

 

I was visiting her blog and she was having a party and was having a drawing...and my name was pulled!!! I was so excited! Rarely do I win!!!!! What a wonderful sample of papers she sent me! I CANNOT wait to use them!!!!!! Thanks so much Tyn!!!!!

Back Home

I feel like I have been gone for a week when I only just left Thursday afternoon after picking up Christopher from school. THANK YOU to everyone for all your very kind and sweet emails! Friday was hard! Very hard! And very long! I'm so proud of my mom....she had to speak! She did great!!!! But...she lost her strength when one of the great grand-daughters stood up to sing a song and couldn't make it through it. The song was by Avril Lavigne called "Slipped Away". I spent forever trying to figure out how I could get it on my blog. I am soooo computer stupid! But Sandy Wood came to the rescue and sent me the link! Thanks Sandy!!!! I cried buckets!!! The whole service I cried buckets!!! But Nana had us arriving in style! We were brought to the service in HUMMER limos!!!!! My son's first ride in a limo and it was a HUMMER! The flowers were just beautiful! I took a ton of pictures....and while they are all very personal to the family, I do want to share a closeup of the flowers.

I stayed late hoping to miss traffic...which I did. As I was driving home I called Missy because I had missed her phone call due to my phone being on vibrate still. I was on the 91fwy almost to the 5fwy and she says "why don't you come spend the night with me?". Remember...she's at Disneyland with her family....and I was like "OMG!!! are you serious?" So I called my hubby...called her right back and jumped on the 5fwy and there we were...together!!!! I haven't seen her since August!!!! For those of you who know we are best friends, but not sure where we live...we are both in California..but she is in Nothern California and I am in Southern California...a good 8 hours apart!!!! So Christopher and I spent the night. They wanted to head out to Disneyland early this morning...don't blame them....so I hurried up to get ready so we could have a picture taken! Here we are!

They left before us....Christopher still had to shower....so while we cleaned up our mess....we made another one for her! Christopher and I decided to use ALL the pages of the notepad and leave her a ton of messages!!! It was fun! I wanted to write all over the mirror with an ugly color lipstick that I had thrown away...but OMG...what if it ruined the mirror? So I didn't. So anyway....that's chunky ole me...the short one! dang...I sure have alot of wrinkles around the eyes....whats up with that?

The phone call came this morning!

I'm sorry this post is a downer.....my day has been a droopy one. We lost Nana (my aunt) this morning. Nana was my great aunt, she was my moms aunt (sister of my grandma who passed when I was only 2). She was a grandmother to me and my brother. She was a mother to my mom. She was the kind of person you thought would "live forever". I know that is very unrealistic...but it's how I felt. She was very strong, very determined and told you how life really was and never sugar coated anything. She had a wonderful life! She lived it to the fullest! Nana bought me my 1st car when I turned 16!!! I had always wanted a convertable volkswagon..and well she listened! And I was oh so ever suprised! You can barely see her in this picture.....and these pictures are old! And don't mind the hair.....I was a teenager of the 80's!

I'll be in and out this week...the funeral is Friday.

And I'm so happy that you are liking the little change I'm doing! It's fun!!!!! Even the famous Jenny from Every Day is a Holiday emailed me asking about a special order doll!!!! YIPPEE!!! Yup....I'll do special orders!! Don't be afraid to ask! And also, don't be afraid to ask on the "sold" dolls....as long as I have the fabric, I'd be happy to make more!

Well like I mentioned in the previous post.....my washer decided it no longer wanted to play at my house and stopped! It's been acting up for a while...and I was being very "gentle" with it...but no more! It is gone...and the poor dryer got the boot too and they were replaced with shiny new white front loading very quiet machines! I purchased them last night (Wednesday) and they delivered them today.....just in time...as my laundry piles were getting quite high! I just love them!!!! Didn't like the price....but I really had no choice! So work work work is what I keep telling myself!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! I am very excited as my mom is flying in tomorrow and I get to pick her up from the airport...but it's not a pleasure trip, as my great aunt who is like a mom to my mom is very ill and they don't expect her to live much longer. I will be snatching my mom up at the airport and peddle to the metal to get her to my aunt!!!!! This is going to be a very sad time for my mom and I plan on being by her side as much as she needs me and can stand me. So if I don't get to my emails right away...don't panic....as I really don't know what lies ahead right now. Here is a picture of the last time my mom was visiting...and I met up with them.
