Img_6021

oh my...who decided for me to be the model???? anyhoo....Here is the pattern, typed exactly from the paper Becky gave us.

Needles (suggested by yarn used)

CO______ (multiple of 4 plus 1) odd number of stitches (leaving and 18" sewing tail for weaving seam.

Make Two

  • Row  1: P1, (K2, P2) across
  • Row  2: (K2, P2) across, ending K1
  • Repeat rows 1 and 2 until desired length, approx 7- 9 inches
  • BO in ribbing pattern, leaving 18" tail.
  • Weave seam from wrist to thumb hole
  • Weave seam from top to ending thumb hole. Hide ends.

I believe we were supposed to have these made to the point where we were ready to weave for our next meeting.....and was that next Friday? Or end of the month?

Happy Knitting girls! And I do plan on making a new blog for our new name....do we have any color choices in mind?

A correction

Hey Gals!!!

It was brought to my attention that there is a typo on the pattern for our "Flap Hat".

"Decrease round 3" It should read K2 *K2, K2tog* repeat from * to end of round.

I myself haven't made it that far yet....but Vanessa has!!!!

Also...KnottyKnitters.com is already taken as far as a website...but we can also go HemetKnottyKnitters.com !

Have a great weekend!

Happy Valentines Day

11dsc09131_2
Sandy brought to my attention this very cute dishcloth found on this very awesom blog called KrisKnits. The dishcloth is called "Be My Dishcloth". Isn't that so cute! I stole the picture off her website...and you can even find the pattern for it there too! If you get a chance...take a peek...make one! I know that today is Valentines Day...but who doesn't love hearts any day!
Also..girls...we need to keep Shawanda in our thoughts....here are the details I found on our chat board from Sandy.
Attention all Hemet Hotties... we need to keep one of our members in our thoughts and prayers...Yarnho (Shawanda).  Her mother is very, very ill and Shawanda has been at the hospital for the past few days at her mother's side.  It sounds as though her mother, after coming home from the hospital will require round the clock care that Shawana is so willing to give. We know this isn't easy Shawanda and if there is anything that any of us can possibly do to lighten your load, don't hesitate to ask.  Hopefully, you can do some "knitting" while "sitting" which might give you some form of relaxation. We're all looking forward to your soon return to our group. If there is any way you can make the meeting on the 29th, we'd all love to see you.  Maybe you could just get the supplies or have a member get them for you just in case you can make it.   Hope everything works out.  We miss you.

Shawanda!!!!!! We miss you!

Okay girls...I hope all your hubbies spoil you tonight! Happy Valentines Day! And all the teachers at Bautista Creek....have a great week off!!!!!

SnB Meeting Update!

Redpinkyarn

Yummy 100% cotton yarn for those ever so fun dish wash cloths!

Okay...update on the meeting....as you probably know by now...the 15th has been cancelled. Here is what Sandy posted on the Snb Chat board.

After speaking to a few of us SnBer's since my last post, I think it's best that we just plan on meeting at the Lazy Daisy on the 29th of Feb at 5:00 p.m.  We are planning on making the flap hat that everyone fell in love with at our last meeting.  I spoke to Becky, the owner of the shop and she is so excited to have us.  These are the supplies you will need to get from Becky PRIOR to the 29th...
1.  16 inch size 17 circular needles.
2.  one hank of Lamb's Pride Burly Spun yarn in color of choice.  Becky will need to wind it for you so you're ready to go!
3.  Chubi finishing needles
4.  Tape measure with cm's and inches
5.  You will also need stitch markers and a clicker (row counter) that you can get from Michael's, JoAnn's or the Lazy Daisy.

I will have a pattern for the flap hat for everyone.

Those of you that won't be knitting the flap hat, please keep in mind that we need to respect the owner's policy that we only knit with yarn purchased at her store.  She has such beautiful yarn!  You'll become addicted...  Please let me know ASAP if you'll be at this SnB session so I can have Becky plan accordingly.  Sooner the better!

So girls.....email Sandy asap to let her know! And get to shopping!

Still waiting for birthdays! Please email if you haven't.

Thanks again to Shana for opening up her house and hosting our night! And I'm sure that we all cannot thank Shana and Sandy enough for all the help they are giving us! Sandy mentioned this wonderful site called "KnitHelp.com". It has video tutorials for help! Check it out! It's great!

1st Friday Night Meeting

Picture_120_2

Our 1st Knitting Group Meeting was GREAT! A bunch of sweet gals getting together to "Stitch and Bitch"! A big thanks goes to Shana for opening up her home to all of us. And to both her and her very sweet mother for helping us "newbies" figure out what we are doing!

Our next meeting night will be on Friday February 1st @ 5:00 at Shana's house again. No need to bring munchies....but maybe donate $3.00 to help out ordering pizza's. Maybe bring your own drink if there is something specific that you want.

There are quite a few beginners.....that's great! And please don't be discouraged! Us beginners should try to finish up our scarves...get comfy with the knitting..and let's move onto something that we can all work on together! So.....Sandy suggested for our first group project making dishcloths. So let's all try and get the book "Garden Dishclothes to Knit" asap! Click here for the link over to Amazon to purchase it online. It's most likely available at Michaels too. Here is what the cover looks like.

Mygardendesignsbooklet

And don't forget....there is a chat board over at Stitch n Bitch......where we can all chat! But feel free to leave comments here too!

And last...as it was posted in the newsletter....if "newbies" are serious about learning to knit, ther are some great beginner books and knitting DVD's. A good recommendation is going over to Leisure Arts and buying "Knit Stitches in Motion".

Looking forward to seeing everyone next Friday....bring your "hopefully" finished scarf...and maybe some new yarn and your "Garden Dishcloth" book!
